Diary of a Fangirl: America's Next Top Model

I was upset when she did the "short model" season.  I was upset when Janice was gone; I was upset when Nole Marin was gone; I was upset when Adrianne Curry was unofficially stripped from the show as if her win had never happened.

I was really pissed when Angelea was stripped of her win before the season even ended, omg, wtf? I wasted all that time watching for her for that B.S?  But Ms. J?  Mr. J? Gorgeous gorgeous Nigel?!  Gone from the panel?

That I cannot bear.

I have to admit, I've only been half watching ANTM these last few years because it's gotten a bit nuttier as it's gone along [see vid below].  And then there was that whole "season of shorties" thing, which I felt was insulting since tall women are usually put on the back-burner.

Now, if Tyra really wanted to spice things up, and maybe get back some of her old viewers after horribly betraying their trust time and time again over the years, she might want to consider the following: Doing an all plus-size season or doing an all male season or an all minority season (since they aren't bountiful in the industry anyway).  Not this stupid "college" (ugh) stuff or Britain v. U.S. stuff.  Cause seriously, who gives a crap?

Oh yeah, and maybe do an "All Star" judge panel, and include some of the old favorites she's booted from the show, or hey, even Adrianne!  I'd watch again for any of the changes mentioned.

Diary of a Fangirl: Josh Marks for the win!

Last night was another riveting ep of MasterChef, and I have to tell you, I was so hoping Josh would go head to head with Frank and kick his ass.

And then I saw the challenge--not one but three Soufflés--one cheddar for Gordon, one chocolate for Graham, and one raspberry for Joe.  I've never made one of those, but I've seen how hard it is to make one.

I was worried for Josh, like the Judges were, for he had gotten his in the oven a tad later than Frank.

But what was I thinking?  This is Josh for crying out loud!  His Soufflés were perfection--and I knew he had won once I saw Joe's fluffy spoonful of raspberry.

Josh took a risk using actual raspberries and it paid off.

I can't wait until Becky is eliminated next week, and Josh and Christine go head to head, and he crushes her too.

Josh for the WIN!!

Diary of a Fangirl: Shia LaBeouf goes all the way...

I have a lot of respect for Shia LaBeouf as an actor.  I know he's had his personal problems, but when it comes to acting, he's one of the very rare young "heavy hitters."  Thus far, his personal life hasn't interfered with his acting work too much (the broken hand from a fight, if I recall correctly, hindered filming on the set of "Transformers 2"), and I do believe an Oscar or two is in the near future for him.  Shia is a method actor, and it's quite easy to believe his performances.  So much so that he scared his co-star on the set of "Lawless," Mia Wasikowska so much that she wanted to leave the film.

However...

Apparently, in his upcoming film for Lars Von Trier in "The Nymphomaniac" (2013), the director wishes him to have actual sex with his co-star (potentially Charlotte Gainsbourg).  Um...wat?  I don't believe this to be necessary in a film by any means, no matter how method one is.  That being said, I am curious as to what they will do with it.  According to Shia, he took on the role cause it (and the director) scared the shit out of him.  I guess that's one way to go work...

The film will also star Nicole Kidman, Stellan Skarsgard and Willem Dafoe.  Apparently, Liam Hemsworth turned the role that Shia accepted.

Oh dear oh dear...

Diary of a Fangirl: Meeting Paul Wesley

Today's Guest Post is from Tambra:

Jeez, uh, I wanted to do very bad things to him and was totally put off that I couldn't because his wife was right there...lol! No, really, it was awesome, I loves him so much. I was wearing my Stefan shirt when I met him and he's all, "Cool shirt!"  I was all, "Thanks.  Always Team Stefan!"  And he was all, "Awesome! I got a fan!"

Aww, it pains me that so many are for Damon, but what can you do?

Diary of a Fangirl: Paul Wesley

I've never watched The Vampire Diaries [or True Blood or The Walking Dead and probably some other big, popular fangirly show I'm missing...maybe I'll Netflix them and write a blog about each ep or season...], but I've been to two (count 'em--two!) TVD panels at San Diego Comic Con.  Like Eddie McClintock and Alexander Skarsgard before him, I really enjoyed him as a person on the panel, and that made me curious about the show.

I also got the opportunity to observe him with some fans outside of a party one night at SDCC.  He was very accommodating, and took pics with nearly everyone out there (sadly I didn't get one, but I wasn't technically a fan so...).  And I think that's cool--he seems very down to earth, and he's also quite funny.

I look forward to learning more about you, Mr. Wesley.

[Note: Does he look like a cross between Justin Bieber and David Boreanaz to anyone but me?]

Diary of a Fangirl: Fangirling Adrianne Curry

This post might be a tad all over, for it's a fangirly post, a pretty post, and an inspiration post.

I am a HUGE fan of Adrianne Curry's.  I initially saw her on the first season of America's Next Top Model, and knew that because she was so gorgeous and so awesome, she was a shoe-in for the win.  I was right.

Adrianne is a truly unique individual (not to mention ridiculously gorgeous) and an inspiration.  She's followed her dreams and followed her heart, and I was more than happy to go along for the ride via reality TV.

What's also awesome about Adrianne is that she's a geek [like me, and perhaps some of you, gentle readers].  I love her spirit and passion for various comic cons, always attending with an interesting costume.  Not to mention that part where I heard she was a big BtVS fan (and now I wonder if she adored Angel as well).

I had the great fortune of meeting Adrianne last year, stopping by her booth twice.  She gave me a HUGE compliment about being a model, and I cannot tell you what that did for my self-esteem (no lie).  Also, as a tall woman, I love that she's tall too!  It's a rarity in the business, for sure.

Ms. Curry also did me a huge favor this week, by promoting my book Fangirl.  She even said she remembered me!  My entire Adrianne Curry experience is one of my best fangirl moments of all time.

P.S.

Adrianne Curry as Wonder Woman!  Think about it.

Diary of a Fangirl: Robert Pattinson

So, I've only seen like, ten minutes of the first "Twilight" film, and it's really not my cuppa...Although I do plan to do a marathon watch of all four films soonish/before the next one comes out and will blog about it.

Tangents.

Anyway, I was trying to get to Rob Pattinson.  From what I've seen of the character he's known for, I wasn't impressed.  And then I found this site. It seems mostly down now, but it had some interesting stuff, like the following:

Reading through some of his quotes and seeing a few vids of him, I found the guy kind of adorable.  I guess Edward Cullen (again, what I know of him) kind of tricked me into thinking he's a dullard with shovel face syndrome.  But no, I was wrong at first glance.

He's quite handsome and quite interesting and apparently, now single.  So now I must wonder...how come no one's wanted him to play Christian Grey?  Is there a stark contrast between that character and Edward, or are they more or less the same (sans red room, naturally).

Oh boy, I cannot wait for my post on that book series and this film series.  Can't read the Twilight novels, though.  Read the first two pages before, and I just can't.

Diary of a Fangirl: Happy Belated Birthday James Marsters!

So it's true--James' birthday was on the 20th, and I did make a post on my LJ that day.  For some reason, I forgot I had a blog (dur), so I wanted to wish a(nother) Happy Birthday to James--the guy who kind of kicked off this whole fandom and comic-con business for me, and also lead me to meeting lots of awesome Buffy fandom peeps.

I wish I had the time and energy to do a montage (I don't), so now, I shall present a collection of pics, icons and vids.  All photos of me with James are by Froggy Photos.

Tangent: FANGIRL is now available on paperback!
